Keep Hoping

(I wrote this post on Facebook more than a year ago. haha!)

Have you ever been tired of waiting for something to happen in your life? Have you ever lose hope on things that doesn't seem to make sense? Have you ever questioned God when he seems to be so silent? Sometimes the hardest question to answer is, If God really is God, in this particular situation or moment in my life, can he do something? or if he can do anything, what's taking him so long?

Probably, the hardest moment in a person's life is waiting. Waiting on things to happen. Waiting on God. Hoping that He would really fulfill what he has promised. The truth is, God really does what he says he will do but most the time he chooses to be silent for a moment. Until we learn how to completely trust him and surrender everything only to him. I remember the time in the Bible when the people in Israel were complaining to God to do something about their situation and Isaiah answers them with another question.

Why do you say, O Jacob,
and complain, O Israel,
"My way is hidden from the LORD;
my cause is disregarded by my God"?
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
-Isaiah 40:27-31

Every moment is always a matter of how much we trust God on the details about our life that is yet to be worked out. What's important is not that we believe God can do anything, but it is when we believe God can do anything but still we allow him to do it his way (Matthew 26:39). Hoping and waiting at the same time is really hard. But the real meaning of hoping/waiting in the Lord is that; we know that life is really crazy, life is full of stress, life is full of disappointments, life is hard. But beyond all these things in life, still we wait. Still we hope in the Lord. We stand and stay in the midst of God's peace. God did not say that we will not get tired. God did not promised to take us out of this difficult situation in our life. Yes he can do that, but what he promised to do for those who are waiting on him is even greater. He promised that when ever we feel that we are tired and weary, even most of the time hopeless, he will renew our strength. We would see and realize that beyond all the difficulties we still have that strength to go on. We are soaring on wings like eagles. We are running and not growing weary. We would walk and not be faint.

Keep hoping in Jesus!

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."
2 Corinthians 4:16

  1. He gives us these blessings simply because we are His son and not as a slave hoping for a reward from the owner. He loves us that is why he blesses us. Yun yung hope natin kay Jesus eh. Nice one bro! Ok 'to ah.
