Where is my miracle?

Miracles happen, they say. But how about you, do you believe that in your heart?

I believe it happens every time. It happens all around us.

But some of us are just not comfortable using that word. I know most of us believe that miracles happen. But the truth is, not all of us believe that it happens every time.

Just watched Men in Black Three last week and a guy there who can predict the future described miracle like this:

"A miracle is what seems impossible suddenly becomes possible."

It is when God just provided from nowhere. A total miracle.
It is when you're believing for a  job position and then suddenly you just got the promotion. A total miracle.
It was when you were praying to pass a subject and you just passed. A total miracle.
It is when you have been praying for a person to receive Christ and he/she just did. A total miracle.

I believe that it is just the kind of God that we serve. A God of miracles. 

What seems impossible to us becomes possible in Him. 

I believe that it is in Matthew 26 where in one of the greatest miracles in history happened.

48Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.” 49 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.
50 Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.”
Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.51 With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword,drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

Now I know you are asking in your mind: Now, where's the miracle there?

Maybe you are saying: 
There is no miracle here. Jesus was betrayed. He got arrested. Now He is about to suffer and be killed. 

Yes He could have prayed for twelve legions of angels to rescue Him but He didn't.
Yes I know His father could do that and everything else to save Him but He didn't. 
Yes I know He can make miracles but this time there was none. 
Now where is the miracle there? 

Have we not all asked that question? and if we would just make it more personal, we all have asked this question;

Where is my miracle?

How about during that time when you prayed for provision but it just did not come in your expected time.
How about when you prayed to God to heal that sickness but it just did not happen. Nobody got healed.
How about when you were praying for your family to be restored but things did not turn that way.
How about when you were praying for a friend to get saved but He/She just got deeper in his/her addictions.

How about that? Well, I don't know exactly the answers to all of those. But what I believe is that miracles still happen and they happen every time. Even if things do not turn out the way I expect them to turn out. I still believe God works all the time. He works in ways we do not expect or can comprehend. And this is not an excuse for God not showing up in some of your prayers or problems. 

But the truth about miracles is this:

Miracles are not only about believing that God can do anything but it also about allowing Him to do it His way. 


If we would go back again to Matthew 26, it is easy for us to see that there was no miracle in that chapter. 

But was there really no miracle there? Maybe for some of you, God sending no angels that time was no miracle at all...

Or is it not the greatest miracle that ever happened to mankind?

When Jesus DID NOT pray for those angels to come.
When He DID NOT run away from that night and rescued himself.
Yes He could have done that but He DID NOT. 

And that's why I'm thankful for that miracle. I'm grateful that God didn't send His angels that time. That miracle wherein Jesus just could have rescued himself yet He chose to rescue us through dying for us, even death on the cross...

I'm thankful that sometimes the miracle is when: 
What Jesus DID NOT do becomes so much greater than what He could have done.

Now I can say that I'm thankful for unanswered prayers. Even if I think that there is no miracle, I still believe that Jesus works all the time. Every moment of my life He is faithful and is working in my behalf. Doing miracles for me and eventually for His glory.
