He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

When was the last time you heard God speak to you? You heard him speaking about your life, about your walk with him, about your relationship with him.

I'm in Day 2 of a 7 days prayer and fasting and it's not just a time to tell God the things that I'm believing him for this year but It's also a time to hear from him as the year starts. I've been learning about the possibility of a spiritual hearing loss. The possibility of losing our hearing when it comes to areas about our relationship with Jesus.

We all want to hear from God in areas in our lives right? Well not in an audible voice or out loud but really in a much louder voice. That small still voice that we hear through His word and His spirit if we would just listen with all our hearts.

Is this the right school? Is this the right Job? What direction to take? Who to marry? What is God's will for my life?

One of the greatest thing that we can do in our life is to position ourselves to hear God's voice about areas in our lives but also one of the saddest thing that can happen in our life is to be in a position where we can't hear him anymore.

When was the last time you heard God told you to encourage someone and you didn't?
When was the last time God showed you that you were wrong about something and you admitted it?
When was the last time God showed you that someone was wrong about something and he told you to show unconditional grace to that person?
When was the last time God told you to stop doing something that was not necessarily bad but wasn't the best for you and so you stopped it?
When was the last time God told you to give away something and so you gave?
When was last time you heard God told you to take a risk and so you took it?
When was the last time God asked you to let go of something, something that really mattered to you?
When was the last time you heard God told you that he loves you and you received it?

Still hearing his voice? Or probably you still hear him but not as loud as before and you know it's fading away...

We listen to God's voice not because we want to love him more but because he already loves us and we want to hear from our Father.

If you won't listen to God in one area of your life there may come a time that you can't hear him at all.

Hebrews 3:12-15

See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. As has just been said:

“Today, if you hear his voice,
 do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion.”
