One of the most important thing I learned and was reminded about this week was that, to "never ruin an apology with an excuse."
As long as it is not a moral issue, as a leader, it is perfectly okay to make mistakes. Also that it is perfectly okay to admit that you made one. In the decisions you make, in the shots that you take, in the strategies you execute, own up your mistakes.
Every leader's mindset should be this;
"I'm not the smartest person in the room, I just happened to be the leader."
We will find ourselves leading in different areas of influence everyday. In whatever leadership position you find yourself into, no matter how small or big you think that leadership influence is, IT IS PERFECTLY OKAY TO MAKE MISTAKES.
The next time you find yourself commiting mistakes regarding your decisions as a leader, don't be surprised that you don't know everything, because you don't. As leaders, we don't.
Learn from it. Grow as a leader. Help others grow also.
